A is for Awake
“And awake, and arise from the dust, O Jerusalem; yea, and put on thy beautiful garments, O daughter of Zion; and strengthen thy stakes and enlarge thy borders forever, that thou mayest no more be confounded, that the covenants of the Eternal Father which he hath made unto thee, O house of Israel, may be fulfilled.” (Moroni 10:31)
Put on thy beautiful garments, O daughter of Zion – today, Satan would have women believe that they are less-than…, but this is not true as God sees all woman as his daughters. God made Adam out of the dust of the earth, then He made woman from Adam’s rib, that she would be a help-meet for him – not less-than nor more-than, but equal too, and Adam called her Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
God wants women to awake unto themselves. He wants woman to be brave and be courageous. He wants us to seek out the broken, the weak, the sick and those that need comfort. He wants us to find Joy in the service we give to us. The deep joy that brings peace and a deep sense of knowing that we belong and have purpose. Joy that changes us in such a way that others see it and want to know why we are changed. It is through service that we begin to understand the true meaning of Joy, it is only through service that we begin to understand who we are – it is only through service that we know we have purpose, – it is only through loving others, that we know we are loved in return.
“Wherefore, be faithful; stand in the office which I have appointed unto you; succour the weak, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees.” (Doctrine & Covenants 81:5)
